Merit University is a private university in New Sohag City, Sohag Governorate, Upper Egypt, established in 2019 by Presidential Decree No. 8 of 2019. Its name is drawn from Princess Meritamun, daughter of Pharaoh Ramesses II, and it currently comprises four faculties: Human Medicine, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, and Technological Sciences. Its health-science programs follow a Problem-Based Learning approach with simulation labs and clinical training in teaching hospitals, and instruction is in English.
